The gemstone market generates billions of dollars every year around the world. From the simplest to the most expensive, such as diamonds, the demand for these precious things increases every day. Finding stones like this in nature is no easy task. In general, they are covered by dense layers of earth, rocks, and, in some circumstances, underwater. No stones are found cut or polished. The raw form in which they are found in nature can fool an amateur prospector.
The process by which these rocks go from the rough to the polished phase is fascinating. In this work, they eliminate impurities and remove residues. Polishing ensures that the desired shine is achieved. Finding the stone and benefiting from it are equally important needs.
When it comes to our spiritual life, the process is no different. God finds human beings in a deplorable and gross state in sin. Divine agents fulfill the mission of searching for the lost and rescuing them for God. The work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the sinner is a work of refining, purification, and polishing until the human being is transformed into the image of Christ.
According to Philippians 1:6, this work lasts a lifetime. It is a continuous process of sanctification that should prepare us for eternity alongside Jesus. In this verse, we are told that God has no intention of abandoning this noble mission. He will finish the work he started unless we stop this process of our own free will. On his part, God wants to transform us completely.
When we look at ourselves, we have a clear perception that this change is not possible. Do not be discouraged! God looks at us and does not see perfection, but He considers our potential. If we believe and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in us, we can be transformed into gemstones of great price.
In the eyes of the Creator, you are a precious stone. Allow Him to polish and shape your life today.
