The Impact of Our Attitude

«For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.» Proverbs 23:7

Our happiness does not depend on how people react to us. We can't control people's reactions; we can only control how we react to their reactions. Valuable young people allow God to control their interior. We are always responsible for what happens inside us.

A guy who had just lost his job came to talk to me. He had been fired because he couldn't get along with his co-workers. He started justifying himself by saying that he was mistreated, rejected by his father, treated badly by his stepfather. When he stopped talking, all I could think about was his negative attitude and how he himself had created this uncomfortable situation. I told him: “Stop blaming the past, people, circumstances. There comes a stage in life when you have to be responsible for what happens in your life.”

Bad things also happen to optimistic people, but some of them are so positive that even what is negative becomes positive in their point of view. Pessimistic people, in turn, see everything in a dark and bad way; even positive things become negative for them.

If you want to be a worthy young person, you have to learn to shape your life with God's thoughts. Wherever you are, think however you want, the responsibility is yours. No one is responsible but you!

A Christian attitude includes Bible-based and God-centered thoughts. The Scriptures are full of stories of young people who faced bad circumstances as challenges to grow.

We all have limitations. We often lack money, physical strength and preparation. Don't allow these shortcomings to neutralize you. If you can't take one road, take another. Don't be a hostage to yourself or a prisoner of your past. A negative attitude will never build anything positive. As a young Christian, you should seek to develop a view of yourself, others and circumstances from God's perspective, aligning your thoughts with His Word.
