Youth

«I have written to you, young men, because you are strong.» 1 John 2:14

I believe that God will raise up a living generation in our time. What He will do in the church from now on will be through young people. Youth is the most strategic time in life. At this stage, the biggest and most important decisions are made. No one will dream as big as when they are young. During this period, in general, we dare to take risks.

Some think that young people are immature and irresponsible. I lived in a time when people said that “young people are the future of the church.” This is a misleading statement. Even though we no longer hear this, in reality, in some churches, others treat young people as second-class members. This is not the biblical concept for youth.

The Bible makes more than three hundred references to young people to designate age or a group in society. When the Bible uses “young and old” it refers to the transition of life. Young people are considered responsible for their actions. Ripe for decisions, they must take on life's challenges.

Young person, you are strong! You have more strength than you imagine. When my son was little, he loved to wrestle with me. I easily dominated him. Our wrestling games lasted until his early adolescence when it became increasingly difficult to beat him. Eventually, he lost interest in this game. Today we no longer wrestle, which is a good thing because I am aware that I would not win anymore.

Similarly, some leaders are afraid of what young people will do to the church. That is not God's opinion. He believes in you! He knows you have tremendous potential for the changes He wants to see happening in the world. The secret for this strength is your commitment to His Word.

God wants to act in the church through you. Therefore, let the Lord act. Today could be the most incredible day of your life. God knows you are in the right moment in your life to face the battles of the Christian life as a winner.
