Bearing Fruit
Mirian Montanari Grüdtner
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23
God’s will is the ultimate expression of excellence.
God’s great purpose for our lives is that we honor Him by not allowing ourselves to be like the disobedient, unhappy, and hopeless crowd. And we will honor Him by producing the fruit of the Spirit. This fruit has nine parts. That is to say that it is only complete if all the “slices” are manifested in us.
When we bear the fruit of the Spirit, there is no room for the works of the flesh. Let’s look at the works of the flesh in women. Besides disobedience, there is low self-esteem, a weak self-image, discouragement, melancholy, the inability to say no to what is bad for us and the excess of burdens imposed by ourselves and others, the inability to put off new and good habits, the fact that we let ourselves be controlled by emotions, opinions, demands, criticism from others and flattery, competition with men, greed, lust, selfishness, pride …
God wants us to reach the heights! But to produce the fruit of the Spirit, live fully, and be emotionally and spiritually mature women, we need to have a daily life of communion with Him. Without this, there will be no transformation and change. We will only follow the crowd, pushed around by how they think, feel, and act.
If you are experiencing hardships, remember this: God always puts the best purpose in our worst suffering. He wants you to experience His will, be happy, live fully, but it involves learning. Are you willing to learn what He wants to teach you even amid suffering?
He wants to enable you to be victorious over yourself and to have a life that reflects His life. Seek strength and empowerment in God to reach the heights He expects you to reach. Are there changes needed to be made in your behavior, habits, thoughts, and feelings? Allow God to touch all of these without fear. And you will see what He can transform you into!
