Sympathy

Life is a failure if we go through it without leaving waymarks of love and sympathy. Compassion is a major indicator of Christ’s spirit dwelling within us. Heartless individuals spoil the pattern that Christ wants His workers to reveal to the world. Caring for those in need of healing or hope brings us nearer to knowing God. The sign of the saved is their love for the least.

Unlike Orpah, Ruth did not leave Naomi to fend for herself. Ruth blended her life with that of Naomi, who was in need. When we sympathize with those in need, a tapestry of love is woven from threads beyond this world. A rich and vibrant pattern eclipses every possible combination that we alone possess.
