God has endowed each of us with many talents. Some are teachers, preachers, caregivers, and benefactors like Phoebe, a deacon in the church. In Romans 16:1, 2 the word “deacon” (NIV) refers to a Christian designated to serve with the elders of the church in various ways.

Phoebe was especially gifted with hospitality, kindness, goodness, and zeal, and had spiritual qualities that she aptly used to be of help in the church. God can use each and every one, especially women like Phoebe, who are consecrated to Him, in many ways not only in church, but also in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Let us use our God-given talents for Him.
